Partner Interview: Kyddo
Our partners are part of the Numero 74 family. Without them, nothing would be possible. We are grateful to be working with people who support us and share the same values as us, such as the preservation of unique handmade processes, sustainable development and fair working conditions.
Today we are introducing Marina and Christian, the founders of Kyddo, an online shop based in Austria, a family adventure born out of the wish to share their experience as new parents.
What is the story and the spirit behind your concept?
I knew from my friends and family that when you expect your first child, it is not always easy to make the right choice of products for the first months of their life. Many children’s products are polluted. We also had this experience. In our search for suitable things for our baby, we have discovered some labels that produce eco-friendly children's clothing, kids room interior as well as toys made of natural materials and made under fair working conditions.
We thought that other parents could benefit from our experience, that’s how the idea for an online shop has emerged. All brands that are part of the kyddo family have sustainable production and offer their employees fair working conditions and fair wages. For us it is very important that our selected brands meet the following criteria: quality, comfort, functionality and safety, together with uniqueness and design.
The idea for kyddo was born at the beginning of 2016, and it was founded in autumn 2016. It is our family business: every member of our family contributes to our brand growing every day. I bring my knowledge of the branding and marketing industry with me and my husband is involved in the strategy and the financial aspects.
Both our sons test all the products and give us the feedback we need when choosing products for kyddo. For our family, this is a big dream come true. For me, it was a decision that I had to make when my maternity leave ended: back to my consulting job or realising my own ideas. kyddo is my "baby". I said to myself: “If I'm able to look after other big brands and make them grow, I can also manage to bring my own brand to life”.
Do you have any online kids’ activity recommendations? We actually don’t spend so much screen time on the web. But when we do we have one favorite Animal Alphabet for Kids (called Zoo Alphabet for kids) and also our kids love music, we have one favourite animated songs with cartoon characters. We have learnt many songs with them actually.
