Behind the scenes (and the umbrellas)
Working at nº74 is a real adventure and—as in all the good ones—we have “rose baobab” moments, “mellow yellow” and “dark grey” ones, too… A whole array of colours forming this unique human rainbow. This is the chronicle of our trip to Menorca. A journey with the multiple purpose of getting content to launch our beach umbrellas, and to do some proper team building after the pandemic times (we all struggled with). After hundreds of skype meetings, being together feels… So HD!
We stayed in the Experimental hotel, a beaaauuutiful location close to Tara’s favourite beach (our little secret), where we enjoyed a picnic and our first bath of the year. Our umbrellas on the beach look very nice, but this is how we really look (advisory of explicit mess content):
Our meetings happen everywhere. If you wonder where’s the marketing team preparing the next move, look for an umbrellas fortress and you’ll get the answer. Some meetings are even more spontaneous and on the go… Go, go, go!
What we enjoy the most (and I dare to speak in the name of all of us): to work here we need to keep our inner child alive. This includes: drinking imaginary teas, expressing our feelings with pillow fights, role playing as professional models, dreaming awake… And taking naps whenever we can, too!
During the days we also had unexpected encounters that turned into a lifetime relationship, like the sweetest landlord we could ever imagine, coming to say hi in his quad across his fields with that far-west Menorca look…
We danced under the full moon, at the spa, and wherever we found a chance… We chatted until our eyes closed, and opened them early enough to capture the beauty of our sister island. It was so enriching to spend this quality time with all (perhaps not as much as drawing boats and answering to existential questions for some), to laugh & cry (yes, when a team is formed by a 95% of women, emotions are right on the table), to share our stories, and create some, together. To be continued...
